ABOUT
Yohann is a Paris-based saxophonist whose playing is defined by instinct, sensitivity, and a strong sense of musical identity. Whether performing live or collaborating with other artists, he brings a sound that is both immediate and expressive—always shaped by the moment, yet unmistakably his own.
He began playing the saxophone at the age of eight, before going on to study at the Conservatoire de Rouen and the École d’Improvisation Jazz Christian Garros (EIJ), one of France’s first dedicated jazz schools. This early grounding—combining technical discipline with a strong emphasis on improvisation—continues to inform his approach today.
Over the years, Yohann has performed across a wide range of musical settings, from pop and reggae to French chanson, developing a versatility that allows him to move easily between styles without ever losing coherence in his sound.
Alongside the saxophone, he is also a self-taught pianist, singer, and composer—an extension of a broader musical instinct that shapes the way he listens, responds, and builds musical dialogue.
Collaboration sits at the heart of his craft. Yohann regularly works with artists and producers, adding saxophone to existing tracks or developing new material together. His playing integrates naturally into a wide range of musical worlds, bringing colour, depth, and a strong melodic voice without ever overwhelming the original piece.
He is also known for his live performances alongside DJs, where his ability to improvise in real time and connect with an audience creates an atmosphere that is both elevated and electric. Whether on stage or within a more intimate setting, his focus remains the same: to create something that feels alive, honest, and musically compelling.
